Miyama Nishiki (美山錦) was developed in Nagano and registered in 1978, bred by irradiating seed of an older variety, Takane Nishiki. It handles cold mountain weather well, so it's grown widely across Nagano and Tohoku.
In the glass: clean and crisp with a firm, slightly austere structure — a favorite for elegant, food-friendly junmai ginjo.
