Brewers often fine sake with activated charcoal to strip color and smooth out rough edges. Muroka (無濾過) skips that step. It is still clear — not to be confused with nigori — but often pale gold, with more rice, umami and texture. “Muroka nama genshu” is a popular combination for full-flavored sake.
